Summer Studio Days for Kids: Creating an Art Trail

Creative art & nature experiences for kids ages 6-12. Each 4 hour (9am-1pm) Summer Studio Day is an individual class that includes a fun warm up exercise, a central project, snack and lunch breaks, and a free art exploration time. All Materials are included. Limited number of students for each day.

All Summer studio days will happen rain or shine. There will be shelter for outdoor projects to keep us dry and out of the summer sun, along with inside breaks!

Pre-registration is required, though dates can be swapped up to 2 days prior.

June 15 Designing, Planning, Mapping An Art Trail: Survey the area where a trail will be built, then imagine what it could look like, creating detailed maps, drawings, painting sketches.

June 19 Art TrailWorks Design and Build: Help to create an art trail that includes pathways, signs, and artworks for both humans and animals. Use nature materials to build first artworks along the trail

June 23 Garden Signs: Design and paint signs that feature messages for the Art Trail and for your garden visitors (human or animal!)

June 25 Art TrailWorks- Letterboxing: Design, create, and add treasure hunt-like clues, messages, tokens to the Art Trail for future visitors.

July 6 Mural Painting: Design, draw, and paint an outdoor mural for the Studio, including plants, animals, colors, and shapes to welcome visitors.

July 8 Garden Stepping Stones: Create magical and beautiful pathway steps for the Studio’s Art Trail and to bring back to your own garden. We will use natural and other materials to design beautiful additions to your yard. (Note: Though we will create them in one day, they will need to be picked up another day, after they dry.)

July 23 Nature Art Trail Structures: Create artworks that will provide shelter, food, water for local creatures.

August 13 Art & Nature Team Day: Design and create a brochure for the Summer Art Trail. Create your personal art Trail T shirt, using drawing, painting, and tie dye.
